Resolution 2023-44 - Use of Competitive Sealed Proposals Process for Procurement and Installation of Playground Equipment at Windy Hill Park
Background
As you are aware, City staff has started design work for the construction of Windy Hill Park. As part of the project planning, staff is requesting authorization for use of the competitive sealed proposal process to select the playground manufacturer to supply and install the actual playground equipment. Staff feels that by using this process it will provide us a better overall package because open competition among playground manufactures have benefited the City in past projects. If approved, staff will begin preparation of the request for proposals (RFP) package. It is our hope that we have submittals to start reviewing this summer.
Because qualifications, experience, and competence are more important factors than price for this procurement, staff is requesting City Commission approval to use a competitive sealed proposal process to find the best provider for these services. Once a firm is selected, a contract for the required services will be submitted to the Commission for approval.
If you have any questions please let City Manager Kirk Bednar or Parks Director Dave Bunt know.
Staff Recommendation
Staff is recommending approval for use of Competitive Sealed Proposals Process for Procurement and Installation of Playground Equipment at Windy Hill Park.
