Resolution 2018-77 - Approval of Easement Agreement with Harpeth Valley Utility District.

Background

The Harpeth Valley Utility District (HVUD) is planning to install a 48-inch water transmission line parallel and to the south of Old Hickory Blvd. in northwest Williamson County. This line is intended to enhance HVUD's supply capabilities to it Williamson County customers, including the City of Brentwood.

The route of the planned water line includes crossing a property owned by the City of Brentwood that serves as an access road to the Brentwood/Metro sewer pumping station for City and Metro personnel (see attached maps of location). HVUD has prepared the attached easement agreement for the installation and future operation and maintenance of the water line. The permanent water line easement consists of 973.02 square feet or 0.022 acres.

City staff has reviewed the easement agreement and believes it to be accurate. Given the proposed easement does not interfere with the Water Services Department’s operations in the area and the new water line will enhance water supply to the City, staff recommends approval.
