Subject

Approval of change order with Southern Lighting and Traffic Systems, to include approval to purchase an overlooked component to the recently approved traffic signal video detections systems.

Background

On July 9th, the City Commission approved the sole source purchase of two (2) traffic signal video detection systems. Staff inadvertently overlooked the fact that the quotation in the amount of $38,934.00 only included one Autoscope Vision Comm Manager, a necessary component of the system. However, two Autoscope Vision Comm Managers are needed. Therefore staff requests approval of a change order to include a second Autoscope Vision Comm Manager component, in the amount of $2,680.00, for a revised total of $41,614.00. The amount allocated in FY-2019 budget is $44,000, therefore with the addition of this item we still remain within budget.

City staff recommends the approval of this change order with Southern Lighting and Traffic Systems.

Previous Commission Action

On July 9th, City Commission approved a sole source purchase for two (2) traffic signal video detections systems for $38,934.00.

Fiscal Impact:

The FY-2019 budget allocated $44,000.00 for this planned expense. The $2,680 change order will bring the total cost for the equipment to $41,614.00
