Approval of Purchase of Replacement Computers for the Communications Center from Dell Pursuant to Statewide Contract

Background

The computers used in the Communications Center to operate the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system were due to be replaced last year, but staff pushed the purchase to FY 2022 due to the planned relocation of the Communications Center to the new Police Headquarters facility. This will allow the installation of all equipment at the new center, ready to be operational when the Telecommunicators are relocated.

There are seven computers that cost $2,431.12 each for a total of $17,017.84 to be purchased from Dell under a statewide purchasing contract issued by the Wilson County Board of Education (#C00000038102).

Technology staff recommends purchasing seven replacement computers from Dell for a total of $17,017.84.

Fiscal Impact:

CAD computers were on the replacement list for FY 2021 but due to the new 911 Center being built, they were pushed off to this fiscal year. Computers will be purchased from Dell as allowed through a statewide purchasing contract issued by the Wilson County Board of Education (#C00000038102).
