Background

The John P. Holt Brentwood Library utilizes Recorded Books, Inc. for two products, Magazine Access and Universal Class, that are very popular with patrons. Magazine Access makes available in electronic format current publications and many that are no longer in print. Universal Class provides hundreds of educational videos on subjects as diverse as candle making, leadership skills for managers, and Egyptian mythology. The contract for Recorded Books, Inc. must be renewed annually, and requires City Commission approval since it exceeds $10,000.

Staff Recommendation

Staff requests approval of the attached resolution authorizing the purchase with Recorded Books, Inc.
