The Parks and Recreation Department recently solicited bids to purchase one three-gang rotary mower to be used on the two new multipurpose fields at Smith Park. Funds for purchasing this mower are included in the recently adopted FY 2019 budget. The department received only one bid submitted by Smith Turf & Irrigation with a base bid of $28,748.94. That amount was under the budgeted amount of $30,000. Despite only receiving one bid, staff believes this bid price is fair in today's market and the City does have good prior experience in purchasing equipment from this vendor.
