The John P. Holt Brentwood Library Policy Manual includes all the revisions recommended by the Library Board since the last revision of the Policy Manual on February 14, 2022. There revisions will be helpful to the Library staff in providing better public service. Each change is described briefly below, and the page on which it appears is cited.
This manual includes the recent revisions approved by the Library Board, that due to their nature, should be addressed by the City Commissioners at this time.

These updates relate to applicants ages 5-17. These applicants must have a guardian or parent present.

These updates relate to the number of checkouts, holds, and the list of items and their number per card. These changes will increase the use of these collections, utilizing more efficient and effective use of the materials purchased for these collections as well as providing enhancement public service.
II. OPERATIONAL GUIDELINES, C. Operational Procedures, 2. Circulation Guidelines, f, page 19.
This update relates to the number of holds requests pending at one time. It increases the number of hold requests per card, giving the flexibility of reserving materials, and with the existing procedure for how holds are processed, will give a shorter period of time to wait for a title.
II. OPERATIONAL GUIDELINES, C. Operational Procedures, 3. Overdue Procedures and Fines, c, page 20.
This update relates to the amount of outstanding fines preventing a patron from checking out materials until the fines are paid and materials are returned. It will coincide with the increase in checking out the number of items per card.

This updates the entire section with additional equipment and material formats now in the library; it takes into account the inflation rates to cover the replacement costs.

This updates the proctoring policy for more flexibility and coincide with staffing schedules along with the workflow of the reference services team. The updates allow for improved staff time management and effective service delivery.

This updates the introductory statement to add a line that covers special equipment, such as 3D printers and Glowforge.

This updates the section to give control of content and resources to the library staff. This coincides with procedures conducted by the Programming Committee and follows current standards in public libraries.

This updates how the 3D printers and Glowforge are used in programming.

This updates the use of equipment in the meeting rooms for renters who do not comply with the agreement to use the City/Library computer AV system.
