Resolution 2021-66 - Authorizing a Grant Application to the CSX Community Grant Program for the Inclusive Playground Project

Background

Staff from CSX has notified the City of its eligibility under the CSX Community Grant Program to apply for a $10,000 grant toward the Granny White Park inclusive playground project. While the City has a fundraising agreement with the Brentwood Rotary Club and the Rotary Club Foundation, CSX staff indicated that an application direct from the City is the preferred method for accessing this grant opportunity. If the City is successful in receiving the grant, the funds will be reserved for the inclusive playground project within the Capital Projects Fund and CSX would be eligible for recognition in accordance with the recently adopted sponsorship recognition program.

Staff Recommendation

Staff recommends approval of the attached resolution authorization an application for a $10,000 grant from the CSX Community Grant Program.
