Resolution 2021-64 - Approval of Second Year Pavement Marking Contract Extension with Kerr Bros. & Associates, Inc.

Background

In February 2020, the Public Works Department rebid the Annual Pavement Marking Contract, Kerr Bros. & Associates, Inc. was the only bidder this time. Kerr Bros. has performed the City's pavement marking for the better part of the past 20 years, they know Brentwood and our specifications well. They do good quality work in a safe and efficient manner.

The overall bid is based on estimated quantities, however actual costs are based solely on the work completed at the quoted prices.

Staff Recommendation

Staff recommends this second year extension with Kerr Bros.

Previous Commission Action

The first year of this contract was awarded at the April 13th, 2020 meeting.

Fiscal Impact:

The City uses this contract for maintenance of all marked pavement within the City's road network, and City owned parking lots. Moreover, this is contract is used in concert with the Annual Paving Contract, to remark any roads that are repaved throughout the year.
