Approval to Purchase replacement RFID equipment and software

Background

The John P. Holt Brentwood Library uses EnvisionWare RFID software and equipment to keep the materials inside the building safe and secure. The RFID software and equipment were purchased in 2010. RFID technology has advanced in the last 11 years. The RFID software and equipment interact with the Polaris Integrated Library System and the Lyngsoe automated material handler (Bookie Monster). Because this other software and equipment have been updated on a regular basis, the RFID software and equipment does not always interact properly. By updating the RFID EnvisionWare, the process for securing materials will be more accurate and efficient.

Staff Recommendation

Staff requests approval for purchasing replacement software and equipment for RFID by EnvisonWare.
