Approval to Purchase Replacement Security Cameras from B&H Photo

Background

The City has approximately 115 security cameras throughout five buildings. We replace cameras every 4-6 years depending on the performance and degradation of video quality. This fiscaly year we are replacing 20 cameras: 8 at the Library, 5 at City Hall and 7 at Service Center. The total cost to replace the cameras is $7,090, which are available from B&H Photo Video using the OMNIA Partners Purchasing Cooperative (formerly US Communities).

Although this particular purchase is under the $10,000 threshold that triggers Commission approval, the purchase total will put the City over $10,000 in cumulative purchases from this vendor; therefore, staff is presenting this to the Commission for approval.
