Approval of Contract Time Extension for the 2017 Sewer Rehab Project

Background

A contract with SAK Construction, LLC was approved by the Board on November 27, 2017. This contract was for sewer rehabilitation in various areas of the City within the Little Harpeth River Sewer Basin. The majority of work associated with the contract has been completed except for sections of pipe located on the golf course at Brentwood Country Club. This area presents access issues for the contractor’s equipment and various options were explored with Brentwood Country Club staff to minimize impact to the golf course and surrounding neighborhoods.

Due to the various access issues, SAK was unable to complete this work within the original contracted time of 120 days. Upon further discussions with the Brentwood Country Club, it was determined that the best course of action would be to complete the work during the months of October and November of 2018. Therefore, a change order has been submitted for approval to increase the contract time from 120 days to 303 days which will create a contract end date of December 1, 2018. There will be no change in the previously approved contract amount.
