PROJECT DESCRIPTION
 Site Plan – Split Log Road Elementary School, 9714 Split Log Road, Zoning SI-2 

Huddleston Steele Engineering requests approval of a site plan for the new elementary school located at 9714 Split Log Road.  The overall area of the site is 83.55 acres.  The area to be occupied by the elementary school is 23 acres.  
 
Eventually all existing structures on the property will be removed. 
 
Since the zoning plan review, the plan has changed slightly to incorporate the following revisions: 
  1. Addition of a second driveway to Split Log Road, which is intended to separate bus traffic from the car traffic.
  2. Reconfigured the parking lots, reducing the 213 spaces shown on the rezoning plan to 165 spaces. A reduction of 45 spaces. The parking provided still meets the requirements of the Code – required parking = 111.
  3. Increased the total area of the school building from 118,000 sf to 118,992 sf due to refinements in the plans, and 
  4. A new traffic signal will be installed at the intersection of the school driveway, Split Log Road and Pleasant Hill Road. The new four legged intersection will be signalized to City standards. 
Please note that WCS will present an attendance zone plan that includes the new school at a later date.
