Approval to purchase four (4) portable radios for the Police Department.

Background

The Police Department requests City Commission approval to purchase four (4) additional portable radios for police officers. The purchase would be made from Motorola Solutions.

The portable radios will be assigned to the Police Department and are included in the FY 2024 budget for new staff positions.

Motorola Solutions is the provider for all radios currently in use by public safety personnel in the City of Brentwood. The APX6000 radios for PD with accessories are priced at $6,964.23 each for a total cost of $27,856.92. All pricing is per the State of Tennessee contract (SWC424).

Staff Recommendation

Staff recommends approval of purchase of four (4) additional portable radios from Motorola Solutions.

Fiscal Impact:

A 2023 fiscal year-end transfer was made from General Fund excess revenues to the Equipment Replacement Fund for this purpose, and the funds were appropriated in the FY 2024 budget.
