Approval of a Change Order with BJB Construction for the ADA Ramp project at the Cool Springs House

Background

On October 12, 2020, the City Commission approved a contract with BJB Construction to construct an ADA-accessible ramp on the west side of the Cool Springs House, together with a new walkway and pad. The total approved contract was $36,087.

The project began in December 2020 and was officially completed on February 12, 2021. There was an add-on for a cost of $372 to furnish and install a new 36" threshold for the ADA accessible doorway into the home. In addition, two four-inch PVC pipes were also added underneath the ADA ramp to provide access for future irrigation system or other needs. BJB Construction deducted $200 from the contract cost for not using seed and straw as originally planned for the project. Sod has instead been installed by another vendor.

Because the work required the additional items for a difference of $172, staff is requesting approval of a Change Order to the original BJB Construction contract for this amount. The new total project cost is $36,259. If you have questions or would like more information, please contact the Community Relations Director.
