Approval to Purchase Security Cameras for the John P. Holt Brentwood Library from B&H Photo

Information
Subject
Approval to Purchase Security Cameras for John P. Holt Brentwood Library from B&H Photo
Background
Over the last several years staff has been systematically upgrading the security cameras used in City facilities via replacement of a portion of the older cameras each year.  Recently, the Federal government banned the sale of Hikvision cameras due to security issues.

We currently have 30 Hikvision cameras to replace, all of which are located at the library.  While the action by the Federal government does not require replacement of existing Hikvision cameras, staff believe it is prudent to go ahead and do so.  The needed replacement camers are as follows:

26 - Indoor AXIS security cameras at a cost of $419 each
4 - Outdoor AXIS security cameras at a cost of $899 each

The total cost for all 30 replacement cameras is $14,490.00.  The cameras will be purchased from B&H Photo pursuant to the OMNIA Cooperative Purchasing Program.

Please see the Technology Director for any questions.

Staff Recommendation
Technology staff recommends approving the purchase of security cameras from B&H Photo for the Library.

Fiscal Impact
Amount : $14,490.00
Source of Funds: General Fund
Account Number: 110-44800-83540
Fiscal Impact:
While the FY 2022 Library operating budget only projected replacement of ten cameras, staff believe the cost to replace the additional twenty cameras can be absorbed within the department budget due to savings in other line items.  If it cannot, a FY 2022 year-end budget amendment would be necessary.
