In 2016 the Police Department purchased new Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) software from TriTech Software Systems. This software replaced the former Interact CAD product. The software was installed and went live effective on March 7, 2017. As part of the original purchase agreement there were no maintenance costs for the first 12 months after go live.
Staff has been working with the vendor, TriTech Software Systems, to provide support for the new software for the period between the end of the first 12 months of the original purchase agreement (which was subject to no maintenance costs) and the final months of FY 2018. The attached agreement provides support for the remainder of FY 2018 and will result in future maintenance charges coming due at the beginning of each new FY, which is easier to account for from a budgeting standpoint. Although costly, annual maintenance is essential to keep the software up to date and to address any problems which may occur in a timely fashion. CAD software is vital for public safety to function in an effective and efficient manner.
Staff recommends approval of the maintenance agreement with TriTech Software Systems at a cost of $24,696.37. Funding is available in the FY 2018 ECD budget.
Please contact the Chief of Police if you have any questions.
