Information
Subject
Resolution 2017-19 - Approval of an Agreement with High-Tech Special Effects Independence Day Fireworks
Background
A notice of the request for proposals for the Independence Day Celebration to be held at Crockett Park was published in the Tennessean. In addition, requests for proposals were emailed to four (4) national fireworks vendors .  The budget for this year’s show is $10,000, the same as it has been since 2000.  With a set budget, proposals are required to specify the number and size of shells to be launched during the display.  Preference is given to larger shells that travel higher (for better tree clearance) and provide a more spectacular effect.

Proposals were received from High Tech Special Effects from Eads, Tennessee (760 total shells, 126 shells that are 5" or larger) and Pyro Shows from LaFollette, Tennessee (596 total shells, 116 that are 5" or larger).
Staff Recommendation
Staff recommends approval of the attached agreement with High-Tech Special Effects, the same firm that has performed the fireworks show the past several years. If you have questions or would like more information, please contact Community Relations Director Deanna Lambert.
