Approval of Change Order with Cunningham Construction for the River Oaks Water Pumping Station.

Background

In June of 2018, the Board approved an agreement with Cunningham Construction for upgrades to the City’s River Oaks water pumping station located on Ramsgate Court. The agreement included a substantial completion date of November 20, 2018.

The project is not substantially complete as of the agreed completion date as a result of excessive wet weather, delays related to getting power to the site by Nashville Electric Service (NES), and station equipment delayed in being manufactured and delivered. Accordingly, the contractor has submitted a request for a contract time extension in accordance with the terms of the agreement for 40 calendar days. The request does not affect the contract price.

Accordingly, the project engineer has prepared the attached change order for a 40-day time extension which adjusts the substantial completion to December 30, 2018 and final completion as January 29, 2019. Staff expects completion of the project sooner than this date, but is in agreement and recommends approval of the enclosed change order.
