Approval to Purchase Video Storage for the Police HQ Facility and Replacement of Existing Storage from Logicalis.

Background

The City of Brentwood maintains approximately 120 building security cameras throughout five City buildings. Videos from those security cameras are stored on a single server and storage array at the Municipal Center. The server and storage array are scheduled to be replaced this fiscal year.

The new Police Headquarters will add approximately 50 cameras and will require an additional server and storage array to be located within the new facility. The Technology department proposes to purchase two NetApp E-Series storage arrays from the vendor Logicalis. The cost of the arrays including three (3) years of support and maintenance is $18,797.25 each. Note that purchase is the storage arrays only. The actual servers will be purchased separately from Dell.

The NetApp E-Series is being purchased through Logicals on the NASPO MPA #MNWNC-121 and the NASPO-TN participating addendum #53458.

Staff Recommendation

Staff recommends the purchase of network storage from Logicalis.

This amount includes the hardware and one (1) year of maintenance for one video storage array that will serve the new Police Headquarters. Funds are available in the FY 2021 Capital Projects Fund budget for this purpose. The second and third years of maintenance (total of $2,897.40) will be included in the Technology Department operating budget in FY 2022 and 2023 (see below).
