Information
Subject
Authorization of Expenditures from the John P. Holt Bequest for Renaming of the Library
Background
On October 26, 2017, the City Commission passed Resolution 2017-78, accepting the bequest from the estate of O'Delle K. Holt and authorizing the renaming  of the Library as "The John P. Holt Brentwood Library".  The resolution includes authorization to use a portion of the funds to change existing Library signage and other logos/marks to reflect the Library's name change.  Attached is a comprehensive list with prices of all items needing replacement due to the name change.  You will note that the  monument entrance signs are the bulk of the total cost of $15,665. If this expenditure list is approved by the City Commission, the entrance signage purchase will be made through the City's property manager, Cushman Wakefield.

Other items impacted by the Library name change will be purchased as the inventory is depleted and will be paid for with regular operating funds.  These items include, but are not limited to, water bottles, Post-its, stationery, envelopes, barcodes, and library cards.  Full implementation of the name change will be gradual, as inventory of smaller items turns over and is replaced by items with the new logo.
